Following 'tradition' is not really my thing. I like to go against the crowd from time to time, standout if you will. I know this rebel approach does not always work in formal settings, but there are subtle ways to incorporate your original ideas into a wedding.

I have attended a few weddings in my lifetime. I've also been in a slew of them. At each reception, I notice there is some form of portrait, message board, or creative display near the guest book table or at the entrance of the reception room. Something along the lines of this:

What a beautiful way to greet your guests as they arrive to celebrate your day! Instead of spending tons of money on an expensive photograph, why not put your favorite picture on a poster and display it in a frame for everyone to enjoy?

Now, you have the chance to win your very own 18x24" Rolled Poster Print thanks to Uprinting.com. Visit both sites for more products and details:

I am having trouble deciding what picture to use for my 18x24" Rolled Poster Print. I can't help but laugh when I see my son's face on this picture. He is clever when it comes to taking pictures. Think Ben Stiller in the movie "Zoolander":

I'll have to make my final decision.

From time to time I like to share songs on this site. When searching for the perfect songs to include in your wedding ceremony and reception, most of us go with what is popular. However, I like to choose songs that are not typical (not yet that is).

I will try to feature a new song each week (don't hold me to it).

Today's Musical Inspiration:

Keyshia Cole, This is Us

I’m like a sunday morning, you’re like friday night
And when we kiss it’s the perfect weekend -no rain in sight
When I’m feeling incomplete, you’re my missing piece
And when you need your breathe taken away i’ll be your thief

From the start to the end
We don’t need to pretend
That we’re perfect all the time
’cause we know what we have
Through the good the bad
It’s a strength that you can’t deny...

I don’t need to find a million reasons why
This is us, this is us, this is how we love
Some ways we’re different
But together we’re so right
This is us, this is us
And this is how we love

And even if we fall apart, we’ll never feel alone
Just like the moon starts rising, our hearts bring us home
We can always find each other like the northern star
Doesn’t matter where we are, i’m looking, going far

From the start to the end
We don’t need to pretend
That we’re perfect all the time
’cause we know what we have
Through the good the bad
It’s a strength that you can’t deny...

I don’t need to find a million reasons why
This is us, this is us, this is how we love
Some ways we’re different
But together we’re so right
This is us, this is us
And that’s the way we love

We don’t always see eye to eye
You must see a million colours
I just see it black and white
(ain’t no way we could get much higher)
’cause when we touch it feels like fire
We both know how good this feels
Yes we do... baby... because...

This is you
This is me
This is us

I don’t need to find a million reasons why
This is us, this is us, this is how we love
Some ways we’re different
But together we’re so right
This is us, this is us
And this is how we love

Couples Who Met on the Set

Posted by Keonte' S | 11:19 AM | 0 comments »

There has been a recent chain of events in Hollywood. More and more people are leaving their spouses to canoodle with their co-star from the set of a movie or television show. It is kind of scary to think that your loved one is 'at work' earning money for the family, and at the same time banking on heartache for the family as well.

So, what makes someone abandon the life they have at home for the fictional life they have at work? Well, I'm not expert, but I am sure the 'office affair' is nothing new. I can remember several stories of how an actor or actress left their counterpart to be with their co-star. It's the whole the-grass-is-greener phenomenon. What most of these infidels fail to realize is that green grass is obtained through constant maintenance. If you don't invest and nurture your lawn, of course it's going to fade and turn brown.

Here is a look a couples who have went on to seek greener pastures:

Brad Pitt left Jennifer Aniston for Angelina Jolie

<---Then, Now--->

Dean McDermott left Mary Jo Eustace for Tori Spelling

<---Then, Now--->

LeeAnn Rimes left Dean Sheremet for Eddie Cibrian

<---Then, Now--->

Seriously, is this a new trend? What ever happened to "love, honor, and cherish"?

Oh yeah, let's not even talk about Anne Heche (left Ellen DeGeneres and her now ex-husband). She deserves her own post.

I am sure there are a bunch more, but I am exhausted just thinking about this. Tell me, what would you do if your significant other told you they were in love with someone else and they were leaving you? Would you honor your marriage vows, call-off your engagement, or go 'Postal' on them?

Leave your thoughts in the comments section.

Will it be FALL, WINTER, or DESTINATION for you?

In less than two weeks, I'll be attending my cousins FALL wedding. At the beginning of the year I attended my FSIL's WINTER wedding. It has been a slow year with only two weddings. Here's hoping they pick-up. I could go for an impromptu DESTINATION wedding in Hawaii right about now. Nah...I think I'll stick it out!

While summer is typically presumed to be the busiest time for wedding invites, the fall and winter are steadily gaining in the popularity contest. In fact, this is the time where couples create wedding themes based on the season or the holiday. Fall is almost here. Before you know it, snow will cover the ground too (for some of us). Oh yes my friends, Tis' the season for holidays, cold weather, and of course, weddings.

Here are some of their popular WINTER and HOLIDAY designs:
